Quote from: README
Description:

   This is a small script that can be used to practice pk. It writes random text to a file of your choosing, and then generates an MD5 hash of it's contents. When the program checks the file, it re-hashes the contents, and if the two hashes don't match, it tells you that the contents have changed.

Running the program:

    Windows:
   If you are using windows, you can just run "filecheck.exe" in the windows package. Do not move it outside of that folder, because it contains libraries that the program needs. You may move/rename the directory that the program is in.
    OSX/Linux:
   You need to install the following:
    * Python
    * GTK+ Runtime
    * PyGTK
   Most linux distributions should already have these.

   Once both of those are installed, you will be able to launch it by double clicking "filecheck.py" (or running "python filecheck.py" in a terminal).
Usage:
   When the program runs, you will see a dialog with two buttons, and a text box.

   Start by clicking on the "Write File" button. A file selector dialog will appear. Navigate to the medium of your choosing (floppy disk, flash drive, etc.). and enter a filename into the box. ("file.txt" will do, but any filename will work.) It will then write to the file.

   Remove the storage medium, and practice kinesis on it. To check to see if your efforts were successful, insert the storage medium into the drive/port again, and click on "Check file". The program will tell you if the file has changed, has not changed, or if it could not open the file.

License:

   This program is licensed under the BSD License. This allows you to incorporate it in another program, modify it, and redistribute it (along with your changes) freely. See LICENSE for more details

Windows users should download FileCheck-1.0-windows.zip
Linux/OSX users should download FileCheck-1.0-src.tar.gz
(If one of the mods could upload these to vsociety's servers and change the links, I'd appreciate that.)

Enjoy!
