Kyo and I have spoken briefly about this before, but I still had some questions.
1.) I am to understand students will be tutored solely over the computer? This could create problems in communication, even if a mentor is incredibly articulate the student may have a poor grasp of vocabulary. Also I believe it would be difficult to correct mistakes a student made.
2.) Who qualifies these mentors, and why are they necesary? Wouldn't a collection of study groups with at least one knowledgable member be more open and effective? What made you decide on the student teacher aspect?

Please forgive my ignorance,
~Kurishian

This entire idea evolved out of a study group.  Since the study group's organization was so frustrating, we thought up this system to be able to organize, keep track, and also get to know people.  The mentors are just a bunch of us who grabbed on to developing the idea which know a few things.  Not teachers by any means, just... study guides really.

Incase I havn't said it clearly enough before, mentors have zero privilages, just helping out where we can.  The program isn't taking more mentors at the moment, but its just because we don't even have enough students yet.  Don't let this programs existance stop you from helping people you want to help =)

They probably got it, they don't give you a response. (Kiwi is my mentor too :P)
<@kobok> And if you push hard enough, you can shove quite a lot into a chicken.

<@Trowa> When someone told him to jump off a cliff, he argued the semantic meanings of "jump" and "cliff", and then proceeded to do just that.

This mentor program is a bunch of bullshit. No one responded to my PM and if this program is really that lousy and behind to not respond, then I really don't give a shit.

From what I gather, the Mentor program is unofficially in stasis.

Kyo was kind of the lifeblood when it was formed, it seems; I've been gone a while myself, though, so don't quote me on that.

Gemini, I, and the other Mentors are doing what we can to get this thing back into a workable form and on its feet. Be patient.
I've not been informed, but it's my guess that if you haven't gotten a PM it's because of the setbacks in revamping the Program. Be patient, it shouldn't be much longer. :)

I'll see what I can find out and post an official Update as to its current status.
Sometimes my shadow leads, or it follows me, but we never seem to become one and the same.
