What do you people take me for? Some kind of brute who just pounds people into the ground because they don't see my way? I HAVE FEELINGS TOO YOU KNOW! *rips out two of The Young Adept's ribs out and jams them into his temples*

...oookay. Now who didn't see that one coming? Anyany, if you like mostly hardrock and metal, I don't know if you'd like Molly...it's Irish songs to throw beer around on. Either you love it, or hate it. Kinda like Guinness. ^_^

The New Pornographers, Scissor Sisters, Geggy Tah, Matchbox 20, Santana (before he sold out), Rammstein, Kamelot, Linkin Park, some Techno (though no particular DJ is that great, they do have their good songs), The Beatles, Beach Boys, ELO, Jet, The Who...and the list goes on and on.

As you can see I'm a textbook case of audiophilia.
The thing that really fascinates me about people is their ability to have no idea what's going on even though it's going on in plain sight all around them and the even more amazing tendency to argue violently when one of these obvious things is presented to them.

While I like a bit of everything, I listen almost exclusively to metal/progressive rock (melodic metal in particular)... Though I thoroughly enjoy alot of classic rock as well. ^_^

Bands I generally listen to:
In Flames, Stratovarius, Children of Bodom, At the Gates, Amon Amarth, Dark Tranquility, Dark Funeral, Gates of Ishtar, Dimmu Borgir, Iron Maiden, Old Man's Child, Arch Enemy, Slayer, Avenged Sevenfold, Rammstein, etc... The list goes on and on. =P

I listen to anything and everything.  I don't listen to music with specific rhythms, rather, appealing ones.  For this reason, I listen to a few songs from many bands in many genres.  I'll list a few here -

Three Doors Down - Kryptonite
Disturbed - Down with the Sickness
Gustav Mahler's First Symphony - The Titan
Seal - Kiss From a Rose
Wharnsby Ali - The Veil
Eagles - Take it to the Limit
The Faint - Dust
Darude - Sandstorm
Queen - Another One Bites the Dust
Rockapella - Where in the World is Carmen San Diego?
Offspring - All I Want
In Flames - Cloud Connected
Joe Diffy - Pickup Man
Guns 'n Roses - Paradise City
Good Charlote - Boys and Girls
Garth Brooks - If Tomorrow Never Comes
Deftones - Elite

That's roughly 1/100th of my playlist, and a good cross-section of the types of songs on it.

Indeed. That would've been warner brother's "Disturbed" ()

Some techno (that which isnt total crap), some rap, rock, metal, electronica, alot of music from nintendo games (that shit's hypnotic), linkin park, ramstein.

Hmm I think I should rephrase this.  I too like music by the song, as Rafnul does.  I don't like any specific genre or artist and I don't like songs just because they are from that genre or artist.  The genres and artists I listed above were ones where the highest percentage of songs from them I liked.  If I were to give percentages they might be like this:

Techno - 10%
Rap - 20%
Rock - 20%
Metal - 30%
Electronica - 15%
Nintendo games - 5%
Linkin Park - 40%
Ramstein - 75%

Knowing which artists and genres yield the highest percentage of songs I like help me make more efficient searches for good songs.  This, however, doesn't mean I'm not open to songs from any other given artist or genre.  Here are a few of the qualities I look for in a good song.

- Good intricate beat involving the usage of a variety of instruments
- Some rhythmic pattern or melody of which to follow; a change of tone; not constantly the same tone
- Evolves; changes sequences; isn't stuck on the same thing all the time.
- Not too many lyrics (unless rap)
- Moderate usage of instruments; no annoying constantly blaring guitars
- Changes my mood and makes me 'feel the music' somehow

EDIT - More Artists

Eminem - 20%
Ace of Base - 30%
Lucid Quest - 80%
Marilyn Manson - 15%
Pink Floyd – 20%
Various movie themes and fight themes
