Depends on the lineage in question - the Mao-Shan sect of Taoism practice a type of light gazing which is virtually identical to the Thogal/Rainbow body practices of Dzogchen. Other sects emphasis working with the central channel to refine the elixir of immortality. Then of course there are external alchemic methods which extend life - The "Premium Ens Melissa" of Paracelsus fame being the most well known example within western alchemy.
