Hey,

What do you call the effect of the environmental situation to the psyche, for example when there is a large statue of the king and you have to keep looking up, or the effect of many initiation rituals where the candidate is blindfolded so they trust. All body language effects the psyche in a way like this, it is the undertone of ceremonial magick.

What is the name for this effect?

Symbolism? Associations? Or just broadly, "psychology".

Are you specifically asking about the subcategory of things where such a thing is forced upon someone else? Ie, social programming or indoctrination?

Mastery does not occur when you've performed a feat once or twice. Instead, it comes after years of training, when you realize that you no longer notice when you're performing a feat which used to require so much effort. Even walking takes years of training for a human: why not everything else?

I'm talking specifically about the subliminal effects of things placed in the ritual space, for example the altar is a symbol of the mind, an obvious example is the bio-psychological effect of looking up and feeling that, that which above you is dominant to you.
