Welcome to the Qigong study group.

If you're here, you signed up for the group.

I am Koujiryuu, I'm the group leader and resident crazy Daoist. I will be leading you through the study group with content I have prepared, I will also be assisting you with questions or problems you're having in understanding or doing the material.

The lessons will be posted every Friday for the next six weeks. At the end of the group, there will be a long post about continuing training and we will take a week to try and figure out and correct mistakes, answer questions, and have a time for you to rate the group in content and leadership.  So, consider it 7 weeks with the last being the end of the obligation to practice daily. I feel posting things on a Friday is good because it gives everyone the weekend to get acquainted with the material and exercises. Hopefully most of you don't work on the weekend and have no obligations or fewer obligations to attend to. Consider the weekend your time to read the coursework and try the exercises contained, to learn them before practicing for the week.

Coursework will be stickied in the forum and you can report your experiences with the exercises there.

Anyway, we will start by breaking the ice. Since we are going to be doing something deeply personal and spiritual as a group, I feel it is best if we get to know each other a little bit. I'll start. If you have a serious, valid reason not to post your name- post your alias, or something else to call you. Remember, you get out what you put in to this group.

You guys all seem like very diverse, interesting people.

Already see two people that like anime, I do too.

Seems like we all dislike ignorant people as well.

Keep it up guys!

(I don't know how the hell I'm going to keep track of 27 people this year. 11 was hard enough.  :headwall: :HA!:)

Well, I have a nice big list in a text file of everyone who signed up for the group this year.

Last year, I simply referenced the text file and kept track of who was posting their experiences in the exercise experience threads. I then figured out who had fallen behind and who still needed to post for the week, and then sent out mass PMs to people who were missing posts. Also, threatening to have them removed from the group for inactivity. Needless to say, it didn't work.

After week 2 I gave up on this because nobody but one person was continuing to post.

However, with 27 people there's really too many people to keep track of this way. So, instead of keeping track of who is NOT following along, I will simply keep track of who IS following along, up until the final week.

At the conclusion of the final week, I will make a thread posting who the "graduates" of the course are based on who has experience posts for all 6/6 weeks. They will be allowed to use a custom banner in their signature on the forums that I have created that says they completed the group (if they want to).

...or I could just legislate a VERITAS ID and you will all be required to have it implanted in your frontal lobe...

ouch, there should be forum statistics that someone can access on who postet how much on what thread.

Sorry, already got a piercing there. +1 nerd points if you get the reference.

I'm very obliged to be teaching people older than me.

There's already quite a few of you who are older than I am.

Glad to have a diverse mix of people, and an older crowd that is going to bring maturity to our discussions and practice.
