Well, me and my room mate are extremely interest into the P90X craze that is apparently going around. To sum up the exercise program:

Get buff and toned fast over 90 days. This is an everyday exercise program that encompasses hard workouts, yoga, and some martial arts. They say the reason this works so well and fast is due to "muscle confusion". The goal of each exercise is to confuse the muscle by never doing the same routine for an extended period of time. Its not played to be a shortcut. Just tough workout after tough workout to tone the body. The P90X routine isn't marketed as a "get strong fast" but a get toned faster concept.

Yeah, its one of those crazy infomercials, but this seems like something that might actually work. I've read around and I see no disclaimer of "results not typical" anywhere.

Bottom Line: I am curious to hear everyone's opinion and if they know somebody who has used this routine or something similar.

Thanks.

Getting buff and toned over 90 days is possible. Confusing muscle groups is not such a bad idea, you can rotate exercises. I personally believe we have found the best ways to train already in life. There are only so many exercises you can use before you get results.

For instance - eating right and workout out hard, is a proven strategy for gaining muscle, losing weight and generally speaking getting fitter. You can rehash programs, give them new names, a new face, but ultimately the principle is always going to be the same. One method may suit on, another may suit another - at the end of the day, you try different systems until you find what works for you, even if that means creating your own approach.

Personally, i dont believe in anything other than bodyweight exercises. And you know what? THEY ARE FREE.

Yeah, I know, this topic has been dead for a while, but I do have an update.

After much reading and considering, my roommate and I have decided to try it out. I mean, after all, its free for us. Our regime will consists of waking up at 5:45am. Take our pills and start at 6am. That is only for the first month. Starting the second month, we do doubles. Morning and evening workouts. This all begins Monday morning of the 18th of May. I will be taking pictures and monitoring my progress.

There was some strong opposition here, and some supportive comments of the program. I can see where some of these comments are just straight disbelief its supposed to be some sort of UBER BODY MAKER THING! (Which I don't blame you, I don't believe in that either.) To me, I view it as a step in the right direction. Personally, I haven't been more the fitness inclined but its time to change that. This is my step.

No more bacon explosion, eh? Tongue

While this has nothing to do with P90-x, this is the recommendation I have for you.

A good friend of mine uses the principals from this site and has moved on to utilizing his own workouts. The workouts presented here are excellent for most purposes having trained with them myself. Keeps things dynamic and interesting while kicking your ass. Check it out.

Hi,

It's good that you are starting exercise in a so young age, because people start it when they had any problem as I did when problem started in my backbone due to stress, then I started exercise under the trainer, which I got from Personal Training Certification,as suggested by one of my friend,he trained me well,
now I do it by myself....but I feel very healthy and fit  as compared to earlier..

Hello,
You are thinking of right training to make your body toned and become healthy..
But my opinion is ,it's up to us to remain healthy and fit..To be healthy and fit is more important rather than having a muscular body..
Proper diet and regular exercise makes our body healthy and fit ,it doesn't matters that you are doing what exercise..
More important is to do regular exercise rather than choosing a tough or many exercise..

Eh, sorry, I forgot about the post. I've had some changes but not like I wanted. Well, I didn't stick to the nutrition guide as well as I should have so I didn't have the full changes.

Now, I am going to do a new work out. From the same company, its called "Insanity". Look it up.

You've got to stick to the nutritional program. You can't out work a shitty diet. I've heard the P90X nutritional program is awesome.

We believe in you...keep it up!

Thanks!

Programs like that do get very expensive very fast. Fresh food is very difficult to find cheap. Luckily, if you sit down and think about it, you can get around some of the things they put in the nutritional guide.

Now I did stick to the nutrition program more often than not, just not as much as I wished I would have.  Trust me, if I had stuck to it perfect, I would be an absolute different person. P90x is a great program.

Now p90x was great, but I was using it to get ready for the newest program, Insanity. Yeah, I know, stupid name but very descriptive. I'm sure the exercise style was found somewhere else but its easier for me if someone put it in a video rather than trying to make my own routine myself. I admit I am very inept at this sort of thing.

You, sir, seem to be a man of extremes.  First bacon explosion which is insanity in itself and now real insanity in the form of exercise.

There is nothing wrong with either bacon or training. In fact, bacon and training are among the few remaining pure, good, and worthwhile things left in this world. If anything is insane it is this world in which we live - a world full of pain, anger, and American Idol hopefuls. So next time you decide to get all keyboard happy and put down two things that make this world go around you should think about all the things bacon and training have given us:

Bacon's Contribution to this Planet:
1. Bacon Cheeseburgers
2. A complete breakfast
3. Charles Darwin
4. Love

Training's Contribution to this Planet:
1. Crossfit Girls
2. Gina Carano
3. Fitness Models
4. Love

I would just like to point out that it was not *just* bacon but BACON EXPLOSION.  Also there are some rather odd new bacony products arriving into the main stream market lately.

Candied bacon, chocolate covered bacon, bacon cupcakes, and bacon vodka...even bacon chocolate chip cookies.

I think I will stick to dipping my bacon in maple syrup the one or two times a year I actually eat it.
