Im sure most people who are serious martial artists have a 6pack. What i don't get is why do so many people like 6 packs. Girls love it and it seems like guys are intimidated by it. Just the other day i was in a argument with another person and his buddy came by and said"don't mess with him he has a 6pack" I want to know whats the big deal, its just a muscle.

But what do you think's harder to increase, your arm musles, or your abdominals (6 pack)? The fact that they have one implies that they spend all their time in the gym.

Muscle means nothing.  My Karate instructor has little muscle and beat a DBZ-huge brown belt with ease.  It's skill that matters.
When you describe a senseless act of destruction, such as building a catapult to launch a minivan through someone's livingroom window, to a group containing both males and females, you get these reactions:

Males:  Cool!
Females:  Why???

Thus, we see the fundamental difference between the sexe

it appeals to so many and is so intimidating because its a sign of being physically fit and of course girls are going to lean towards those who are more physically fit than the rest of the pack...it pretty much all goes back to how our animalistic minds think when it comes to procreation. naturally people want their genetics mixed with the best they can get to ensure the survival of their genetic strain...of course this is a purely subconscious deep rooted geneticly engrained thought process.

now as to why a 6 pack may be intimidating, its simple....its a sign of physical fitness and they just look like a hard thing to hurt with a punch. lets face it, what seems harder to hurt a wall of muscle or a wall of fat?

again its all genetically engrained subconscious behavoir.
Just a wishful thinker with the worst intentions.

How strong you are doesn't matter at all. I got into a fight with the buffest guy at my school. Everyone thought I was going to lose for two reasons the first was because most people at my school haven't seen me fight and the second was that everyone had seen the other guy fight and win at least a dozen times. Anyways, I dropped him to the ground with only 3kicks, a punch and a palm strike.

ok for the last freakin time, everyone knows that just because you have muscles doesn't mean you can kick anyones ass. The question was why does a 6pack make people do the things they do.

Simple, natural impulse. Lots of muscle instinctively makes us think 'ooh, he must be strong'. When still beating our wives with a club, we didn't think much about "ooh, I wonder if he has a lot of inner power". No, large muscles on an opponent = your face buried in the next tree. Still some primal instincts up here. *taps head*
"Well, aside from sustaining massive internal injuries in a plane crash, and being chased by the army, the navy, and a troop of girl scouts, yeah, I'm, uh, just peachy."
