Hi Nizo, welcome here.

I have noticed over the years, that people like to mess around with "electrokinesis", it's a form of a make-belief. With that being said, kinesis is only one, so if you can drain batteries as you have mentioned, you should also be able to turn the psi-wheel.

Theories, Articles, and Philosophy / Religion and cosmology
« on: January 10, 2017, 10:28:04 PM »
Religion is very old, and I think it is probably as old as humanity itself. We tend to fear the unknown, that's why we have to know things, but I we have to name what we fear. There are natural processes in this world, thin like weather, earthquakes, death, processes we couldn't explain at the time, that's why we built mythos around them, some of these exist even today.

Story of Abraham
I think we all know about the Abrahamic religions: Christianity, Islam and Judaism. Pretty old faith, yet still living and breathing. The story of one God, and creating everything including two humans who populated Earth with people of different races and skin colours (and don't make me speak about Noah).

Then prophets came and caused problems the biggest bloodshed in human history. Murdering in the name of one God. Converting leftovers so a new batch of holy warriors can be created, that's how far the fear from the dark can go.

Now, don't get me wrong, I don't think that religion is the culprit here, we, as humans, are violent. There are people fighting because of a football match for God's sake. The thing is there will be wars always, for territory, politics, economy... But the fact is that wars over whom's imaginary friends are better come at the top ten of silliest reasons.

Conception of deities
Very old question in the occult circles, where do deities come from? We already do know about our power to create egregores, but could all the deities be like that? The creation of the mankind? I have spent quite some time summoning various spirits to the point of it becoming boring, the initial sense of dread quickly disappears and communication becomes casual over time, and maybe with just one exception, Death.

Death is truly something dreadful, a natural process we know a very little about, but we don't know what death is and what comes after, and that's why religions are still alive and kicking, and the afterlife. Anyway, let me continue, Death is the only one where the sense of dread remains, so, could its beings be the original ones?

Frankly, I don't think so, they are just more powerful egregores, and and for a quite simple reason, but I really, really. The fear of death and the mourning over dead friends and relatives is not only the human characteristics, it is shared among the species. A dog won't care about Zeus because it doesn't know about Zeus, but it knows Death.

Astrology
I think most occultists know about this, but I there are 7 planets representing 7 forces in the universe that affect our lives. Did you just notice how silly this looks? OK, it is scientifically proven that people are different when born during different seasons, but that's the thing of our environment, not about which one signs are planets in.

Just to point out, astrology was important as it was the basis of astronomy, but we all know today that the geocentric model of the universe is false and therefore obsolete. This system is also the reason why our week has 7 days, despite the fact that 5 would make more sense considering that 1 year contains 365,25 days (that's why there's a leap year every 4 years).

The tables used for astrology are not accurate anymore, either, considering that Sunday should enter Aries on 21st of March (mark of spring) yet it is still in Pisces at the time.

The end
We are already old enough as a species to let the old faery tales go. After all, isn't it funnier to evoke a predator than some ancient blood cult creation. It's going to work either way. Anyway, whatever you do, and don't let your beliefs to limit your progress and do your best to understand modern science, medicine and technology.

Promises are fine, but why not do it the usual way. Offer each of your services for free once for long time members of Veritas here, that way you can easily generate the needed review while not costing you much.
We do not have a "usual way" here at Veritas.

Offer your services however you will, SinisterScythe. For the most part, however, this website is for discussion and education, rather than selling of services.

~Steve

I wasn't talking about Veritas, it is normal to prove your abilities while having no reviews and offering commercial services regarding occultism.

Hellblazer, take a look at the book of world records. All those people went way beyond what is considered achievable, there were no prior records of such achievements, yet they didn't stop "bothering" themselves and "wasting" their time and they managed something no one else did. But even within available scientific data, you have rejected one a page earlier because it didn't fit into your own beliefs (how un-dogmatic of you).

And yes, Hellblazer, I know very well why you have your doubts, remember I have talked with you the whole time it was happening, also remember that I have offered my help a couple of times in the beginning and throughout the case. And frankly, Hellblazer, I have my own opinion about what really happened in that case is it happened clearly in your retention period.

Yet our experience of reality is based on our perspective of it. Our mental standpoint. Does drawing upon the white light of the divine goddess actually mean that you've drawn in some cosmic energy? Are is it the effect of the intention and visualization coupled with an expectation that allows you to invoke the dopamine spirit?
Similar to the 'astral senses' they are self-generated auditory, visual, tactile, and olfactory hallucination.

The problem with the occult arts is confirmation bias.

More and more I think about it, if you need faith and belief to make it work, it doesn't work.

Nope, perception of reality changes the perceived experience, but not the objective one. You can perceive a falling brick as a bunny, but it will still kill you after falling on your head.

Also, tell me where you do not need any belief at all. We all know that exercising strengthens our body, yet we still need to believe that we can achieve our goal and become stronger and better. We also need the willpower to stick with the practice. We need to know, to will and to dare, both in physical exercises and in Magick. And regarding your favorite confirmation bias, once you can light things on fire or make glass shatter with your sheer will, that thing is pretty much out of the question, but you have to get there first.

What you do is basically if a 100-pound dude tried to lift 250-pound weight and upon failing he would mark it as impossible. The point is that you have to build your way up to the 250-pound weight first.

Everything is subjective. My blue is not your blue because we might see different hues. Even when asking someone who's witnessed the same event, you'll get a subjective account of it.

That's the perception of reality, not reality itself.  No matter what hue of color we see, the wavelength of that particular color is always the same, no matter how many different accounts you get regarding that one event, the event was always just one.

Hellblazer, psychology model is currently the most widespread model in Magick, so you are certainly not outside occult communities. The problem is that practitioners using psychology model go away as quickly as their appear, simply because this model leads to the idea that Magick is just a subjective thing.

Needless to say that having objective results is impossible if you believe that everything is subjective.

Well, psychology is pretty much a daughter of Magick, and I believe Steve, as well, can attest the usefulness of certain psychology practices. For example, autogenic training does relieve stress and anxiety. It also increases one's immunity system and I personally wasn't sick in years. So, despite this being just inward, it certainly is still useful.

The thing in Magick is that you start with the inward first. You learn how to work with energy internally with which you can experience a lot of interesting feats, ranging from the decreased need of sleep up to being able to consciously affect your body temperature and heartbeat. Both fo these things are rendered impossible from the purely physiological point of view.

But after that, you also learn how to affect energy outwards. You learn how to affect the temperature of the room you are in, a temperature of objects, liquids, other people... For example, in IIH there are various techniques that allow you to learn how to control the fire element to the point of being able to light on the cotton ball, how to shatter a glass without touching it, how to heal others...

IIH then also teaches you how to access different realms of beings, how to come in contact with them, how to gain information and insight about their zones and aspects. The person that is very consistent with the IIH is able to work great feats of Magick that are externally verifiable.

After that comes the PME, second book in the series, that allows you to work with spirits of different spheres based on your progress in IIH and the authority you have gained thereupon.

After that comes his final book, the Key to True Kabbalah, that allows you to bypass the spirits from the second book and do their feats directly as they would have done them. In other words, you learn first the art of thaumaturgy, from inside to outward, using the old dictum as above, so below. Then you learn theurgy, how to work with spirits in a verifiable way. And then finally, you learn how to work directly with the Tetragrammaton key to work the same way as those spirits.

On this path, your subconsciousness (to use Bardon's terms) creates obstacles for you, it casts the doubt into your mind, your subconsciousness is your enemy in your progress. A very similar concept exists in the Chaos Magick, as well, known as the psychic censor. Defeating this enemy is a long and painful process and I personally am far from done in this case, as well, but I have already had my experiences that were verifiable enough to keep me going. The thing is, that I believe you also already had some of those experiences, they are just harder to recall from the memory, that's why the journal is very useful in Magick practices.

If you've lost all faith in magick what do you do? Hang up the cloak and be like everyone else? Try to rekindle the flame or accept it's death?

I will say that at this point I am effective spiritual dead. I have no faith nor belief in anything paranormal, supernatural, or magical. So where does an ex-magician go from here? Is there recovery or simply the end?

And is that really so? Are you sure you really have no faith left? Something holds you back from re-entering the mundane life, what could that be? Maybe past experiences? Nostalgia? Not knowing what to do with spare time?

What is holding you in the occult world if you do not believe anymore, Chris?

Well, some of it could be explained psychologically as the simple work of passion and from the little you have described, I would say that your partner did actually use psychology on you during those experiences. I am also getting a vibe that his intention was rather abusive towards you, maybe a psychic vampire.
