Haha yeah, Idk if I'd go as far as saying it surpasses a shroom trip.

Although, if you want to with a sober route, it's a pretty awesome alternative.

Applied, one can hope :)

Great drug debate. I'm not in a position to say how one would achieve such a state through meditation, but as a drummer, I can say music will get you there. If you let yourself get lost in the song, and everyone pulls the song off perfectly, you reach an indescribable state. It can even far exceed the state you reach with say weed, or even playing while stoned IMHO :)

Everyone know the story of the tower of babel? Now think about the concept of an orbital elevator.

Just blew your fucking mind.
Then of course there's the part about the Confusion of Tongues. Good thing there's not a universal language like English to break up all over again... oh wait.

Makes sense that it would be a good time to lucid dream, but that thought never crosses my mind when it's happening. Then of course I can never lucid dream when I want to :p

Main Hall / Re: Best Book You Have Read In The Last Year

The best book I've read this year would probably have to be The Sirens of Titan, by Kurt Vonnegut. I love his novels, and this one is no exception. When it comes to books relating to the Occult, I'd have to go with The Kybalion.

I don't know if this is common or not, but it happens for me sometimes, and I was wondering how many of you experience the same. Sometimes when I wake right after a dream, especially if I woke up before the dream could finish, I can go back to sleep, and resume the dream where I left off, letting it fully come to an end. Also, sometimes when I wake up in middle of a dream, even though my body is no longer asleep, I can keep dreaming, even though I'm also aware that I'm no longer asleep. Thoughts?

Edit: Shortened the post up a bit.

Ah, makes sense. I was excited to tell friends and family about it at first, but it ends up, people are far less approving of it than I had hoped.

In what ways could starting out in a hermetic system induce depression or paranoia? For the last month or two I went through a phase where I was pretty depressed, and kept thinking that everyone I was around, even my closest friends, were constantly talking behind my back whenever I wasn't around, or even when I was. Anyways, I realized that was pretty ridiculous, and finally kicked that funk. I'm not suggesting it's cause had anything to do with magick, but I'm just curious because I don't really know what caused it, and it would be nice to avoid that pitfall in the future, if that's what it was. Thanks.

I have been working through my steps in complete darkness. Is it more beneficial to work in dim light?

I haven't been able to find any sort of teacher, so I'm going my path alone. Being in College, I'm still trying to work out a good block of time to devote to Hermetics, but I'm pretty happy so far with all that I'm learning.

I always had mixed feelings about it. I do also like the idea of breaking down our current reality. However I didn't agree with exposing people to such energies and thoughts against their will.

Edit: Here is a link to the book description that I quoted.
