I would suggest finding books that interest you most regarding your specific interest in the Occult. Then start a journal with all of your thoughts, keypoints and the likes while your reading the book. If you do try and find a time where you are alone, practice it then. Then write it down. I would mostly suggest Sigil work, because most of the work is done on paper and in the mind of the Magician, as opposed to aloud words. Usually readings of the history of the path that you are interested in sometimes can be entertaining, yet just educational, try writing essays of what you think. But keep in mind, it is your journal, and yours only. Only to be read by you.

thanks =)

Maleus: You know, ceremonial magic doesn't require verbal components. You can speak with your mind instead of your voice (after all, do you really think an entity hears your voice when you summon it? :P ). So just go into your room, close the door, and go through the ritual while telling your family that you're reading or taking a nap or something.

humm I didn't know that, but then again, I don't know much on the subject  :P thanks =)

Indeed, it is quite the predicament. I suppose one must find his or hers own space and time in order to work things out. I first started my practice with both Catholic parents, gradually I was able to do my workings at the park in a secluded area more-so. It has only now gotten to the point where I'm able to actually clear the mundane monotonous energy from my own room in order to be able to practice in there. I suppose it could boil down to a personal preference. Where and when is the best place and time for the individual to practice without being seen or without interuptions. He or she then can continue a sort of formal basis of training, spasmodic as it may be,  if one can find a daily routine that best fits I would suggest to stick with it.

I have Catholic parents too, and they don't feel very good about this. sometimes people assume things without much information on the subject, and at first they were a little scared then they began to think they failed in my education somehow. I'd find this amusing, but it affects me a lot. my first experience in ritual magick was when I got interested in Wicca. currently I'm having some trouble because I failed the last year, I'm in the 12th grade again... and whenever I try to find me some time to dedicate myself a little bit more to study, I simply can't do it, don't know why. I fear I might fail this year too, and then my parents will probably blame my interest in occultism. The real problem is doing rituals with other people at home, parents, brother, sister, whatever, they will think we are retarded or something o.o . well, on a slightly unrelated topic, any suggestions on what should I do to be able to study, concerning my current situation? I just want to make the best of the time I dedicate to studying. I'd really appreciate your help on the matter, sorry for the off-topic. I'm just getting a little worried and want to change as fast as possible. thanks in advance =)

I still havn't managed to find a pdf of that book... I guess I will pick it up then, unless you have a source for the ebook.

it sucks... here is really hard to find reading material. i rely mostly on ebooks, spend hours searching for proper material without any guidance. when i finally get something interesting, i rarely have patience to read it lol

Magick / Re: Two Questions : Hermetics and Rosicrucians

This link is from the Rosicrucian Fellowship website, and it is about Homosexuality. The answer is not by Max Heindel but by some memeber authorized to answer.

being a Rosicrucian would be a terribly boring, tense lifestyle... but that's just me.

how about being a Freemason? here in Portugal you will never lack money or influence

Magick / Re: emotions as energy for magical acts....

The flip side of such, of course, is that negative emotion (depression and such) can negatively effect ones motivation to do magic- but even in such circumstances, a properly focused magician can make himself cast spells just as effectively as usual.

crap... that explains a lot  i've been trying sigils lately and i haven't been getting any results (that i can see) yet. lately my life sucks ass, i've been divided between school study and that of hermetics. it's all a matter of priorities i suppose. anyway, as i'm barely a begginer, i've tried sigils, and i tried loads of methods from different sources (it becomes confusing, they all look alike then there's a small difference between all of them. i allways wonder wich works best)

so could my depressive mood be causing this lack of results? or do i suck at hermetics?

and who's gonna pay for all that?

well, it IS a good idea, even though it takes too much effort (and money )

but if any1 does this, count me in for the classes  :cow:

well, i didn't know where to post this so i decided to post this here. if this isn't the right place please move this topic.

today i received a couple of very peculiar PMs... from a new member, jessicah.

in the inbox:

Today at 01:04:50 PM              IMPORTANT NEWS AND INFORMATION!!!     jessicah
Today at 01:07:50 PM              URGENT MSG FROM ADMIN!!!                      jessicah

well... the "important information" was:

If you have some time check out this COOL pic:

Also, check out the following website I came across:
[Link edited out]
It will knock your socks off!
Next, the below website is thrilling!!!
[Link edited out]
Finally, the following website is the absolute BOMB!!!
[Link edited outl]

and a pic wich i will not post...

(both messages are the same, only the Subject is different...)

so this jessicah character here has been sending PMs with porn sites advertisement... i'm pretty sure i wasn't the only one receiving it, but i must say i was very shocked when i read the messages. i really wasn't expecting something like this on Veritas, so i decided to report it. this forum is supposed to be taken seriously, not to use as a mean to advertise on that crap.

i'm not going to delete the messages just in case you need further proof, but please hurry... i feel bad just having this on my inbox -.-"

do what you will with this information, my job as a member is done

even though elementalism seems to be a good start, it all seems to have a lot of hermetic influence. and my religious point of view isn't compatible with hermetics (not that it's too important anyway, I'm very open minded), and I'd like to start with non-hermetick magicks. maybe later, when i'm more experienced, I might try hermetics for a change =)

anyways, great article =D
