Theories, Articles, and Philosophy / Re: soul title?
« on: October 08, 2007, 07:52:17 PM »
It's a common new age mistake to have your mind generate a random name and then you believe it has some meaning. I did this multiple times back in the day, i ended up with a book containing about 30 different names of "deities" and about 5 names for myself. On further investigation all were found to be fraudulent. As nice as it is to think we stumble upon these things and recieve messages from on high it is quite often an overactive subconscious. This is no different to psychics and mediums telling you the names of your guardian angels really, generally they sound like they are from a sacred language (sanskrit is not uncommon). This isnt to call you a fool, moreso just to warn you that pursuing this much further would most probably be a waste of your time.

Hello and Goodbye / Re: Leaving
« on: March 29, 2007, 01:27:47 AM »
Again you draw yourself up into a light that doesnt shine on you.
My leaving is not your doing, i have encountered far more difficult people in my life and have not been stopped, nor am i stopping now.
But i do honour you as a person Tsumaru, best of luck.
With that said i bid all my final farewell to all, if ever i need to be contacted my email is on my profile.

Hello and Goodbye / Leaving
« on: March 28, 2007, 08:45:37 PM »
I have decided to leave veritas permanently. My judgement has become clouded and i feel i am becoming biggoted the more i am here, which is of my own doing, and i do not feel i am any longer valuable to this society. I will visit from time to time to keep up to date with articles, but will no longer actively participate in boards or the chat.  I have been with veritas a long while, under a few different names, and am pleased at what great work has been done to turn it around from where it was and to bring it to the great centre it is now. I wish all the best to all the truth seekers and to this very society itself, may it continue to thrive and be a place of learning for those who need it. I will continue the path, but as is often the case, i will do so alone.

Farewell and blessings,
David Mackenzie

Upon re-reading what Oriens wrote i see i misinterpreted his meaning as well, for which i apologise. I think perhaps my use of the word "viable" was unwise. What i was trying to say, i really can't with any given amount of words, which strongly frustrates me. I share the same view as kobok (and also tsumaru, though i do not appreciate the speaking to me as if i were an idiot) on the matter that has been brought up, but i would like to leave it there since this will change the original point of this topic, which is discussion of the necronomicon.

I said nothing of the effectiveness of Neconomicon at all, simply that the website is a bad idea.
And if something isnt intended for magic then how can it be magically viable?

"gaaaareeetings noble magicians "
Going to be taking the side of Raitaro in this instance, and adding further that such sites shouldnt exist anyway as they tend to give a back door into spirit conjuration which is far too dangerous for the untrained.
It makes me curious if he is simply going so quickly through all charging exercises etc in his videos. Perhaps he is just demonstrating as time allows (or maybe hes JUST. THAT. GREAT. )
It all seems a little too odd to be regarded as a valuable resource. This may be simply because i do not trust the internet very much at all when it comes to magick of any sort. Especially in dealing with ceremony and conjuration, i must advise that either a prominent magician, or a prominent text, be approached for wisdom on the subject.

Theories, Articles, and Philosophy / Re: Self Transferance
« on: March 23, 2007, 05:18:09 PM »
This is conscious recollection of a subconsciously stored event. It states that we can get swept away and die....a little excessive.
"Whatever works" if people used "whatever works" most of us would be black magicians at worst and jesters at best manipulating everything that we can for the sake of it.
The language is extremely crude, at times speaking highly and properly, only to immediately reduce itself to "dontcha think"
The article jumps around from being about visiting the past, to transferring consciousness into a fly.
This implications of this article is that a person actually visits the past and changes it. If such things are possible, only an adept of the highest level would attempt it, and even then, they would know better.
Plently of stolen quotes evident.
A true adept does not seek finance.
Is this your own work or did you find it somewhere?

Though i agree with you on  basic levels Tsumaru, may we forego Sorath's "deception" at least as far as this topic is concerned? This is a post relating to Prophecy's Qabalah articles and copyright images and stolen identities hardly come under the scope of such things.

Bladesmith, i would not advise learning the runic system as a system of alphabet verbatim. One of the widely help concepts is that half of the power inherent in runes is the attention the magician puts towards them. If a person must focus very hard to let alone REMEMBER how to write "protection" in a sacred script, it imbues much more energy into it than if you could recite it off the top of your head faster than you could write it in english. Without thought and focus, much energy is lost in comparison.
I do not say that the scripts do not bear power in themselves, but this is just one train of thought (not necessarily my own but i have found greater effects in spells generated with concentration on each individual letter).
Of course if you just like writing in runes then by all means

Magick / Re: Cult of Energy Vamps?
« on: March 20, 2007, 03:56:37 PM »
If i were to support your theory in any sense, it would only be on the basis that regular people take everyone elses energy all the time, its just what humans do. This doesnt point to vampires or witches (pray tell what "hints" one recieves of dark witches) nor does it point to any sort of issue. If you are throwing energy around (shielding, magic, etc) of course you are going to feel more depleted because you are using energy. Not to mention an "energy-relinquishing spell'' would clealry relinquish (release) energy
Now for the other end, supposing you are correct and there is a large group of black witches who have the time to go around and steal energy from people. LEAVE IT ALONE. If you are indeed correct and dealing with a cult of people who practice black magick, they would break you on the same day you challenged them. Do not argue to possess enough power to deal with them, as your unwise actions regarding the situation so far have shown little knowledge of any type of effective warfare, and if you are indeed dealing with people who have the faintest clue, youll find yourself victim to several attacks at once.

Magick / Re: Wanting to learn nature magick
« on: March 19, 2007, 11:57:20 PM »
just because a being is on a higher plane does not make it "better" or "more useful" to the practitioner. Mastery(to use the term loosely)  comes from mastery over all, not just mastery over the higher levels. Working with the earth and its spirits is by no means a fickle matter and working with nature magick is not either.

Magick / Re: I'd be gratefull if someone answered this

One must train in specific methods and must have obtained sufficient experience to be able to sense such things as "attack".
Bladesmith was quite correct in saying that it is rare for someone to be targeted out of random circumstance, and generally either it is all in one's head or it is an projection of someone else's will (this is what psychic attack is usually defined as, and many times it can be an unconscious projection, even from an uninitiated person).
Bladesmith was also correct in suggesting Prophecy's article to you, though remember that such cases as those referred to are not only rare, but rather extreme and Prophecy dealt with them so efficiently due to vast knowledge and experience of such things. For a person who is just starting on the path this article is purely for reference and by no means dictates everyday occurences in the field of magic.'
What i would recommend is Dion Fortune's "Psychic Self-Defense" as this elaborates on the causes behind what she termed psychic attack (which can also be referred to as magical attack if you so wish). This book can be read as relatively simple(though there are profounder aspects), especially when compared with other initiates of her time and level.

Considering the fact that the last time you asked us for an opinion on an outrageous claim, and when such opinions were given, you proceeded to call all who spoke of it fools and unknowledgeable pretenders.
Do you actually want to know what we think?
Or do you want to tell us what we SHOULD think again?

Magick / Re: Futhark question

whilst the texts i do have are limited and do not apply to transliteration of the Futhark, my other books show various styles of runes from different places. There is often a common occurence between the runes of seperate systems. For the letter "c" i have noticed that the most common one is a symbol that can roughly be described as a K without the top right line, which makes it look like a straight edged h. If you are trying to abide by one specific system of runes and do not wish to use this, then i might suggest using the character for k to replace c as many runic systems were based on their phonetic attributes.
