Questions & Suggestions / Help! I smite thee! By accident...
« on: March 27, 2012, 09:48:04 AM »
So I'm new here, and while I wait for my new Laptop I have been using a netbook.  Tiny little thing it is!

Anyhow, I appear to be an idiot and half blind because I thought that the options for rating a post were "applaud" and "smile".

So I have clicked smile (smite) about 5 posts, hoping you can reverse my actions.

I even wondered how people end up with negative karma if you can only respond in favourable ways.  D'uh!

My bad.

Can this be fixed?

Magick / Re: Spiritual Path as cure for all illnesses
« on: March 21, 2012, 05:25:02 AM »
Hello!

Hope you don't mind a newbie responding.

I don't know if spirituality has really helped me overcome any illness.  I am lucky in that I have not suffered any great malady.  I used to get the typical colds, flus, allergies  or skin irritations frequently, but they have substantially decreased since becoming more dedicated to evolving spiritually.  I have no allergies at all and I rarely get sick.

However, on the spiritual path, it led me to changing my diet from standard terrible, to organic, raw and healthy.  I eat this way about 80% of the time, which might actually be at the root of my increased immunity.

I remember reading somewhere that "vegetarians are healthier than meat eaters, but is that because they eliminated the meat?  Or simply because they eat more vegetables? " I am not sure if it is the spirituality or the diet, but either way I feel great.

What I can say for certain is that spirituality is helping me with mood, emotions, confidence, and I feel more connected to nature than ever.  I've always been sort of awkward and clumsy, and I don't fit in anywhere, but lately I feel this is lessening each day.  I'm 37, so it's about time I'd say.

I hope the school is what you are looking for and that it helps you.  Not sure I understand the problem, but if good vibes count for anything, I'm sending tons your way.  Hopefully someone will respond with the info you seek.  Best of luck to you!  :)

Spirituality / Re: what is your religion?
« on: March 20, 2012, 09:52:36 PM »
I believe in a universal consciousness, and I believe in universal laws.  I believe in Karma.

But I don't agree with organized religion, to each his own, but it isn't for me.

I think that we are all here to learn lessons, and to grow and evolve spiritually.  And while much of what is taught or preached may be right on the mark, I think the point is that we should be learning them on our own.  Through decisions, mistakes, experiences, social interactions.  We all are at different stages, so I think preaching lessons, laws, commandments, morality etc. is futile given that it may or may not be something someone is ready to learn, accept or understand.

Not sure if i explained that well, but I'll end with a classic:  "We are not human beings having a spiritual experience. We are spiritual beings having a human experience.  Teilhard de Chardin

I got all 4 of mine done at once, they gave me local anesthetic, and I was out of it.  My boyfriend at the time said I walked out and started unbuttoning my top, it's not supposed to affect people that way, but stuff like that always messes me up.

So where a pullover shirt.

And it really isn't that bad, you'll be glad to get it over with and the affected tooth gone.  Good luck!

This guy has always bugged me.  I think sometimes a healthy dose of skepticism is important, but his constant grouping off all things he doesn't understand into "impossible" is aggravating.

My old boss would inject this guy's "story" and claims in answer to any discussion that came up for that was even remotely "unexplained".  Every time.  bleh!

I keep giving you good karma daily Kilik but some are smiting you and me too even on days when I posted nothing. Keep up the good work though, you're an inspiration and the "polly"ticking is for the birds.

I love Kundalini Yoga, Hatha is nothing in comparison. Have you tried a YouTube search on K Yoga I found fantastic free lessons by Gurmukh there ;

Thanks for the link!   I have been doing some reading on kundalini yoga and it sounds powerful.  Can't wait to try it!

Hello and Goodbye / Hello Soul? Are you there? It's me, thenumber44!
« on: March 20, 2012, 07:48:03 PM »
Hello everyone!

I am new here and have spent the last couple of days reading through much of the articles posted to the site.  I've also read through the academic section, specifically the threads by Mobius and XIII.

Firstly, I want to express my thanks for the information presented; not just because the content was valuable, but because it was written so clearly and eloquently.  The first think I noticed is how well ideas were expressed, which gives me great confidence in learning from this community.

I've begun practicing the candle meditation, or focal mediation, and will move on to internal when I feel I've reached the necessary point.

I have been interested in all things psi/paranormal/supernatural/magical etc since I was a kid.  My problem isn't distraction, it's discipline.  I've experimented with many meditations, binaurals, hemi-sync, and more.  But I never stick to or finish anything because I want results too quickly.  Instant Grat! I'm hoping to break free of this self imposed restriction to my development.

I've recently started Qi Gong, and even though I had some results with isochronic tones, I'm leaving them out because I want no crutches.

I don't understand the part about feeling/connecting with the soul, but i know that some things can't really be explained.  And while I cringe sometimes at the vague responses to this issue, I respect that the process or results may feel different for everyone, and that I need patience.

So!  That is all.  Hello from Canada.  Hope to learn and contribute!
