Magick / Request of an article
« on: September 23, 2008, 07:08:46 AM »
I've been wondering if it's possible for anyone with the knowledge to write an article about the changes one goes through during a process of initiation (of course I'm talking about general changes here, not the most intimate ones that cannot be shared) and a lot of general 'help' or guidance among the many paths up the tree.

I'm not interested in any self-made initiation paths or anything, only legitimate currents of Initiation.

Magick / New Souls, Karma and Evolution
« on: May 26, 2008, 02:08:38 PM »
I was wondering, what is the Hermetic viewpoint of the Evolution of new Souls?
If a Soul is new it has no Karma, so the individual has no dirt to clean off, hence he/she would Evolve alot faster and would gain the conscious connection to the Neshamah alot faster than an older Soul who still has Karma to work off.
Unless the Soul itself can grow beyond the starting point of its creation, but what would that point be? Because in essence every Soul is the same, or are they not?

Magick / MPR combined with qigong/pranayama/yoga
« on: May 10, 2008, 07:26:54 AM »
I was wondering which yoga practices are actually bad to combine with daily rituals (such as the LBRP, MPR and others), and if certain styles of Qigong work against the energy gained from the MPR. (Veos I know you said Qigong will not hurt my current practices but it might not be like that for every Qigong style).

In the MPR you pull in energy from the crown chakra and pull it down to below the feet, but with Qigong you pull the energy upwards through the groin area up the spinal column and finally up the crown.

And I was wondering if it would be a smart idea to practice pranayama as well combined with the MPR/LBRP/... and Qigong.

Thanks in advance

Magick / Is this Dhyana?
« on: January 27, 2008, 03:08:36 AM »
Last night I've had it again,
I was lying awake and decided to Rhytmic Breath till I was relaxed enough to fall asleep again, but after about 15 minutes a scene appeared before my eyes (eyes closed), I focused on it and saw 1 image, when I focused on this image it felt as if every single atom in my body was being pulled out, as if the whole universe was being torn apart, ripped open...
It hurt alot and I got scared and came back.
This has happened a few times, but every time I get scared and come back (although it lasts longer and longer), I've never actually gone through with it mostly because, well, I don't know what's going on.

I've been meditating about 1-2 hrs daily for 5 months, mostly raja-yoga practices (pranayama, mantra, dharana - in as far as I can).

Magick / A list of medication
« on: December 19, 2007, 01:12:42 AM »
In times like these (unfortunately) alot of people use medication, so I guess there will also be quite a few working in the occult that have to take their occasional pill.
I'm writing this thread hoping that we'll get quite a list of bad/good medication for magic/meditating/energy arts...
Ofcourse it'll be based on personal experience but that's still better than to have no guide at all, as it seems that quite some experiences also have a cause within the brain, and some medication either blocks certain of these experiences or opens different ones.

I had sleeping problems for about 5 years and went to alot of different doctors, I took 5 different kinds of medicine, 3 of which were really bad and 2 who were 'ok' (or atleast the side-effects did not block the internal feelings).
The last one I took (Remergon) blocked my kundalini, and the feeling of 'God' I had in me (I know this is all very subjective, but until we can get an objective list it's better than nothing), I never felt so empty, like an empty shell of some sorts.

If I had more time I would investigate this more and maybe write a huge list with all the medication and their side-effects occultwise, but maybe someone else has the time to do this in the future.

These are the medication and their effects (also added medication posted by other people):

Bad ones

Oxycontin Painkiller: Unable to meditate. "Which had, according to my ankle specialist, some of the most extreme effects on me she had ever seen in a person."
Oxycodone - Oxycontin, Endone, OxyIR, OxyNorm, Percolone, OxyFAST, Supeudol, Roxicodone

Remergon Anti-Depressive:This was the worst of all, I lost complete control of the mind, couldn't meditate for even 1 minute. It blocked my kundalini and made me feel like an empty shell. I did not do any ritual work during this. It was the first and last pill I took. (Or should I say 1/4th of a pill).
Mirtazapine - Remergon, Remeron, Zispin

Serlain Anti-Depressive: Here also completely loss of control over the mind, though the kundalini feeling was still there. Lasted alot longer than the previous pill.
Sertraline hydrochloride - Serlain, Zoloft, Lustral

Stilnoct Sleeping Pill: This one is quite dangerous because it seems to open you up to astral experiences (and for me this wasn't very positive). It gave me alot of very live nightmares where I woke up screaming and bathing in sweat.
Zolpidem - Stilnoct, Ambien

Slow Fe Supplement: "I've always found iron supplements, like Slow Fe, to make me feel really weighted down and inactivated... I guess would be the right word."

Excedrin For Migraines: "I found them to lessen my concentration, although that might just be the remnants of the migraine."
Excedrin Extra Strength - Contains 250 mg acetaminophen, 250 mg aspirin, and 65 mg caffeine
                   - Note: different formulas of this drug are on the market.  All contain some amount of acetaminophen.

Ibuprofen For Migraines: "I found them to lessen my concentration, although that might just be the remnants of the migraine."
Ibuprofen - Ibumetin, Advil, Motrin, Espidifen

Lexapro Anti-Depressive: "I take the smallest dose of lexapro for depression. Before I went on it I couldn't meditate for more than five minutes because I had no drive and my mind was cluttered with negative emotion and I was pretty much so depressed I did nothing but work and sleep."
"...when I take Lexapro, it seems to make me very jittery and unable to relax.."
Escitalopram - Lexapro, Lexaprin, Cipralex, Seroplex

'Better' Ones

Atenolol To reduce bloodpressure: "As opposed to the experiences most people seem to have with medication and metaphysics, I've actually improved significantly in my ability to concentrate and relax since I began taking the medication."
Atenolol - Tenormin

Lormetazepam Sleeping Pill: This one doesn't seem to do much apart from making you sleepy and a bit 'high', it although gives very hallucinative feelings and it is really hard to have LDs with this. But all in all much less aggressive than the previous ones.
Lormetazepam - Noctamid, Ergocalm, Loramet, Dilamet

Melatonine Supplements: This isn't really medication but it's also a hormone and doesn't seem to do much apart from making you drowsy.

I know it's very personal to share your experiences with medication but it might help other people.
If people that have experience with different kinds of medication could write this down also we could make a list and maybe investigate it more (as to which chemicals affect which energies...).

Again, for me the sleeping problems I've had for 5 years now only started to diminish when I took less and less sleeping pills and instead just meditated more.
But for some people once in a while they need some help from the medical world and with this list I hope they can pick the right medicine.

Thanks to Pryon for including the IUPAC names.

Magick / How much meditation is too much?
« on: December 13, 2007, 01:08:37 PM »
I was wondering how much meditation a day is too much, right now I'm doing 4x 10 minutes of semi-aggressive void meditation (Step I in IIH) and about 45 minutes to 1h ritual. It feels quite good and I've never been this focused, but I just wanted to know so I don't take too much risks.

Is there a set limit when you start damaging brain cells or is that just being overcautious?

Projection / Astral Projection instead of sleeping
« on: December 01, 2007, 03:29:22 AM »
Would it be possible (after dedicated training ofcourse) for one to Astral Project at night instead of sleeping? Or would the body not have sufficient rest?

Magick / A feeling there's something coming
« on: November 08, 2007, 05:12:15 AM »
Anyone else have a feeling there is something brewing? It doesn't seem to be negative but it seems like it's going to make some big changes.
It could be local though, alot of people over here feel it, even if they aren't into anything spiritual/occult/metaphysical.

Magick / The Tree of Life and other Solar Systems
« on: October 21, 2007, 06:13:14 AM »
First of all, if I'm using the wrong terms excuse me for that, I'm still learning.

What I was wondering:

Is the Tree of Life as we know it only applicable to our Solar System where mankind is the central focus?
Because I've 'heard' (Enochian 'Angels') that there are beings from different Solar Systems who
don't care at all for mankind, or anything that involves them.

The Tree of Life seems really based around man in all its aspects, the same for God, but would this God
be the same God of the other Solar Systems and if so, why don't those higher beings care for mankind?

If not, would each Solar System have their own 'Diagram of the Universe', through which they can ascend to
godhood? And would all these end up at the same God? Or does each Solar System have their own God,
who created their own system through which their people can ascend?

I'm sorry for all these questions but I've been wondering about all this for quite some time, as it seems that all
spirits/forces from our own system are here to help us, and by that help themselves, but that there are other
spirits/forces from different systems that don't care at all for mankind in any way whatsoever.

Thanks, and sorry if I made any spelling/grammar mistakes

Magick / How many hours a day do you practice?
« on: October 15, 2007, 02:28:44 PM »
I'd like to know how much everyone practices a day: including the study of books regarding magic and meditation.
Also, do you use a schedule for the next day/week?

Main Hall / Sleeping problems
« on: September 11, 2007, 07:36:40 AM »
I'm asking here because I have tried everything, but it keeps getting worse and worse, I'm now at 9mg melatonin a night + the heaviest dose of Lormetazepam I can take with my weight (which should knock you up for 10 hours atleast).

If I'm lucky I fall asleep for 2-4 hours, but after waking up I still feel like shit, after that I can't fall asleep again, and I just lay there in my bed dead-tired.
If I'm not lucky I don't fall asleep for the whole night.

It's now so bad that I can't even do the dishes anymore, I have to constantly lay down, rest, read a book once in a while.

I have been to several doctors that can't seem to tell me what the problem is.
I am now going to a psychiatrist but it doesn't really seem to help either, it's still getting worse.

I have literally tried everything.

It started getting much worse since I got into the occult, which is about 2 months now.
Although I could stop that for a little bit, but stopping entirely I cannot do, I'd rather die then.

If someone in anyway could help me I would really appreciate it, as I've ran out of options.

Projection / Looking for an expert (or close to) on OBEs
« on: August 27, 2007, 04:00:57 AM »
If anyone here has ALOT of experience with OBEs (the local kind - not astral projection), please pm me or post here because some really disturbing things have been happening.

Magick / Magickal tools
« on: August 23, 2007, 09:12:09 AM »
I didn't see any topic on magickal/ritual tools, I was wondering if anyone knows any good books/e-books/articles/websites on magickal tools.

Mostly how to make them, what materials to use, etc..

Or if there are any good online shops (like for robes and stuff).

Thanks
