Projection / An unusual recurring experience
« on: February 19, 2006, 12:20:08 AM »
Long-time-no-post. I need to get back to contributing here more, but real life is sucking the time away.

Anyway, I've been having some strange OBE-ish sensations. I know astral projection, I know trance, I know awareness bridging, and I know when I'm dreaming. This is none of these, and I'm trying to figure it out.

What happens is, there's an intense 'fuzz' throughout my body (It's sort of an audible static roar), I lose feeling and movement all over, and if I focus in a direction, I feel my body move that way and the 'fuzz' intensifies. If I focus on the sensation, any sound becomes unbearably loud; I keep a fan on in my room to give a bit of white noise, and this becomes almost a shriek. I get a terrifying feeling that if I continue focusing on it, it'll continue getting louder until I short out, even though I know that's not possible. It took a while to get over my fear of the basic rush, and I wonder if I should look at this more closely as well.

This happens in place of astral projection, sometimes, but more often when I'm near to sleep.

The strangest thing is that if I force my eyes open, I still feel myself move in a direction, but my vision remains the same. If I stop concentrating on a direction, I sort of meld back to where my body is. I've pretty much chalked it up to a neat pre-sleep hallucination, but who knows? Maybe someone here knows what this is?

The Cafeteria / Spore
« on: August 29, 2005, 03:37:49 PM »
Might not be an immediately exciting or profound thread, but I am literally drooling, this game sounds so awesome. Ignore if you wish.

A brief description:

More info (screens, an interview, etc., plus an active forum)

Will Wright's speech, including a great demonstration of the game. (scroll down to "Will Wright discusses his new game creation called "Spore"")

There isn't much info out there, but I'm definately watching this one closely. I've already sketched out a few creatures I'd like to make.

The Cafeteria / Corrupt a Wish
« on: November 09, 2004, 10:57:56 PM »
Shamelessly stolen from the Nationstates forums, who shamelessly stole it from another forum.

Yet another forum game (tell me if it's dumb). The person before you wishes for something. You have to corrupt that wish, i.e, wishing for immortality, you become an indestructable statue. You then wish for something yourself.

*kicks it off with generic, uncreative wish*

I wish for $1,000,000.

Projection / Unable to AP while sick?
« on: October 05, 2004, 09:05:14 AM »
Last night, in order to get some respite from a nasty cold, I attempted to AP as normal for me. I got out of body most of the way, but my feet stuck in place, and wouldn't 'let go' of my body. In addition, I felt very cold while OOB, and there was a small amount of pain in my ankles.

This has me quite scared. Any idea what it could be? I've never experienced anything like this before, but I've never APed while this sick. I can think of several things it -might- be (all very nasty and dire. ;)), but I'd like a few people's opinions before I forego another session.

Questions & Suggestions / Sub-forums
« on: September 29, 2004, 09:09:44 PM »
Dunno if anyone else has this problem with the way things are, but is there any other way we could organize the forums so that the ones -under- it are shown on the main forum list? It seems like some relevant new topics in a sub-forum might be eclipsed by  a more active one above it, as it is now.

Perhaps a less space-intensive format might be made, with a wider overall view so that the text descriptions of each forum wraps to only one or two lines...

*shrugs* If no one else sees this as a problem, well, I will just be a wet chocolate and eat my own noodles somewhere...

I have no idea what I just said.

Projection / At last.
« on: September 05, 2004, 08:49:56 AM »
I've finally learned how to astral project pretty reliably. All I can say is this is what I've always searched for in life, a place I can be free, truly free. That's paradise for me, I guess... I think that at this moment, if I lived as a crazy bum for the rest of my life, I'd be happy, because I will always have this place now.

But why, oh why, didn't anyone tell me I could sink -down- instead of floating up as I'm leaving my body? x.x It was so difficult to let go in the usual way for me. I tensed up just thinking about it, and I could never get close to the level of relaxation that I now know is needed. I have no idea why, but sinking into the earth and then going on my merry way is much, -much- easier for me. Anyone else do it this way?

Main Hall / Le Parkour/Freerunning

Not directly energy related, but still very, very cool.

While the english translation is badly done, check out some of the movies. The philosophy behind it all makes it even more attractive to me.

Anyone heard of this? If so, why hasn't anyone told me? :p

Questions & Suggestions / Eliminating post count?
« on: July 31, 2004, 06:54:13 PM »
Not a big deal, just thought I'd make this suggestion. Removing post count might make people take everyone's questions, ideas, and contributions at face value, be they good or bad. On the other hand, the focus might then switch to age, which is an even more serious problem, as you can't change that any faster by being more intelligent or spammy. :D

There isn't a -whole- lot of elitism here, there are much worse places for that, but I imagine it still looms above the average newbie's head. It still does for me, though I've been visiting this place for its articles for years now, off and on. Keeping moderator, teacher, and other VIP switches would eliminate confusion as to whom one should trust on certain matters. It definitely isn't for every forum, however, I've noticed a distinct friendliness and productivity in some of those that have eliminated or have never even had this classic staple of  'forumism'.

Admittably, I am proud of my semi-elite status on some other forums, so I imagine there will be heavy opposition to this. The elitism might not go away in any case. Comments?

[As a side note, if you can't understand why you should take a person new to the forums seriously, I very much doubt that the Veritas forums include -all- of the "best and the brightest" of the energistic world. There are six billion+ other people out there. ;)]
