The Cafeteria / New channel rule
« on: March 31, 2009, 04:08:47 PM »
Dear all,

In my five years at Veritas I have seen many come and go.  Some followed the rules and were good.  Some followed the rules, barely, and were bad.  Others just flouted the rules and I was able to ban them with impunity.

It is not those of the first or of the third over which I propose this poll.  It is with regards to the middle group.  The skirters.  Those who think they can get away with it around me because they haven't actually broken a rule.

Therefore under section I of the Veritas constitution, I am proposing the following addition to the rules.

9.  Hate shall be used to purge the infidels from within our midst.  Those eligible to utilise hate shall be those as defined per the Veritas constitution II.A and II.D

Kind regards,

Main Hall / Childhood memories
« on: August 12, 2006, 12:03:29 PM »
This poll stems from a few remarks on IRC yesterday. I just want to know if your childhood memories are in the first person (i.e. From your point of view, how you view things in life) or the third person (i.e as if it was a film of your early life and your watching yourself doing the things in the memory).

« on: July 12, 2005, 08:43:49 AM »
I just thought I'd welcome everyone who found there way here to our new address! You may (or may not as the old address relocates you here :P) have noticed that we now live at and are The Veritas Society. So anyone with bookmarks will need to update them :)

So, Welcome Cows to everyone :cow: and put something on the Veritas Wiki if you have a spare moment :)

Technical Support / Problem with new posts
« on: February 22, 2005, 10:21:51 AM »
When I click on the New Posts button at the top, then on the little link to go to the newest unread post in the thread, it dosn't take me there. It takes me to about a screen above the post, and I have to press page down to get to the right place.
Now while this may not sound like much of a problem, it does mean I occasionaly miss posts when pageing down (plus its just annoying).
Does this happen to anyone else?

Technical Support / Journals and Moods
« on: October 07, 2004, 04:08:08 PM »
When writing a new journal entry, I finish by selecting a mood. Then I post it.
However, it dosn't add the mood to it, and I have to edit it, add the mood again and then it stays.
Just thought I'd bring this to your attention.

Technical Support / PM receipts
« on: October 01, 2004, 06:04:22 AM »
I was sorting out my PMs last night, and clicked on the link which says "You have X confirmed and Y unconfirmed private message receipts." (Gah, I sound like Sov now...). When I clicked on it, it said:
Crowley, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:
Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

Now, once upon a time, I did have access to that. Is this something to do with the changes you've been making to the forums or do you just no longer like me?....
Any answer will be nice (whether or not it answers the question....)

Main Hall / To the members of the Veritas chat, an apology
« on: September 18, 2004, 05:36:23 AM »
I want to apologise for two related matters:
Firstly I would like to apologise for the nature of the long running joke I keep making.
Secondly Iíd like to apologise for keeping on re-using it, and dragging it out beyond the point where it was ever funny.
I know some of you are fed up of it for one or other of these reasons and some for both. Some of you do still humour me, but this must stop, now. In future, please do tell me to shut up (and with which ever swear words you feel appropriate).

However, I do feel that I owe a bit of an explanation as well, as to why I make the aforementioned joke.

I donít have many friends (in the real world that is, you lot donít count), and even those that I do have, I feel I am on the edge of the group. Now this may not be true, but thatís the way I perceive reality and I have no other view to look at it from.
I am also slightly on the paranoid side and actually believe that people are talking about me behind my back most of the time.
I also go through most of life without taking it seriously (apart from the serious bits, such as school) and as such you ill have to expect me to joke around over almost everything.
One of my friends once described my normal mode of speech as bitter, withering sarcasm and begged me to stop it. However, itís an intricate part of who I am, so Iím afraid you, like him, will just have to learn to live with it (or ban me from the chat).

Therefore, once more I apologise and ask for patience when dealing with me.

Technical Support / Small bug, really small. Tiny in fact...
« on: September 16, 2004, 03:17:57 AM »
Now this is going to seem like a trivial thing, but it's bugging me.
The count of posts in my profile is wrong. It's one too high. :p It says I have 116 posts (obviously not counting Pool or Arena) but I can only find 115 by me.
While this may not appear much of a problem to you; if it's got me wrong, then other people could be wrong by more and in the other direction (which would have them annoyed if it said they had 20 posts less than they did....).
Or is it, as Mysan said in the chat the other day, a plot to drive me insane?
So, I just thought I'd bring it to your attention.

Dreams / A dream I had...
« on: September 06, 2004, 01:16:18 PM »
I had this dream last night and was wondering if someone would be kind enough to interpret it. Itís a bit sketchy in places, but Iíve tried to get as many details as I can remember into it.
During the dream; the person I was (hereafter the Ďcharacterí), was sometimes me and sometimes female.
The character was at what I think was a school of some sorts, run by monks (I think). Near the start, she (at this point) was given (or found; not sure) a goldfinch made from a drop of blood. As you would expect, being made of blood, it was completely red (blood-red). She was then shown to a dormitory, which she was sharing with some people who used to go to my school (Not people I knew, just ones Iíd seen around).
At this point, I was myself again. On the bed were a few things of mine; a couple of books and some other things that I canít remember. At the other end of the room to where Iíd come in was a double door out into a courtyard of some sorts. There was a monk out there.
As I went outside, I became the female again, with the goldfinch on my shoulder (the goldfinch appeared to disappear when I was myself). The sky was dingy grey colour, and everything (in the whole dream) seemed faded.
The monks were evil in someway (I think they were vampires). I talked to some people then went back inside.
The room had changed, and there were some cylinders about as long as my forearm full of blood. The goldfinch died at this point and I bit my finger and dripped some blood from my finger onto it, which brought it back to life.
At this point, the dream ended; so any thoughts you have will be gratefully appreciated.

The Cafeteria / The Sexualtity Poll
« on: September 01, 2004, 03:06:08 PM »
This poll arose out of two things:
  • Somebody posted a thread with the a similar title, that wasn't even about sexuality.
  • Something Negi-Sensei said in the chat earlier.
  • Because I'm intrested.
  • And I can't count, I know
Basically, I'm sure you've noticed the poll above this post. I won't insult your intelligence, but basically, vote which option suits you best. If you wish, you can publicaly state your vote in a post; but I'm not going to, so it would be hypocritical of me to expect you to do the same.
Have fun voting.
P.S. The other option is just in case anyone feels they are something else.

Hello and Goodbye / Hi Veritas
« on: August 19, 2004, 02:03:26 AM »
Hi Veritas, my name is Crowley and/or Aziraphale (depending on if you're in the chat or not) and this is my introduction post.
Now before those of you who know me (or look at the post count and see this is my 81st post) allow me to explain.
First of all, I realised the other day I'd never done a "Hi veritas" thread and felt left out. I want a cookie from Tsu and a cow from Smiffy, at least...
Second, while I may not be new to Veritas, I am new to the 'energy arts'. Extremely new, about as new as any of the newbies that make these threads. Thus, I feel justified in creating this post.
Now, allow me to explain a little about that which I wish to achieve.
Goals first: My main goal with the energy arts is to learn some form of illusionary magic and to learn Telepathy. Anything else I pick up along the way is a welcome addition.
Experience next: I've tried half-heartedly to move the Piswheel, but never under the glass; so the one time it did move as I wanted it to was, sadly, probably the wind.
I'm trying the Silva mind control technique for meditation, and am on the 7th day of counting from 25 (For those we don't know what I'm talking about read the post by Star in this thread: It is going well, but the 'thoughtless' state rarely last long.
So, I think that sums it all up. Any help to acheiving my goals will of course be greatfuly recieved.

Spirituality / Archangels + Direction
« on: July 20, 2004, 08:06:30 AM »
I was researching various Archangels on the fabulous Wikipedia for a story I'm writting. I found the following information about four of them, based on Kabbalistic traditions:
  • Archangel Michael - Colour Red, Direction West + Element Fire
  • Archangel Gabriel - Colour Blue, Direction East + Element Water
  • Archangel Raphael - Colour Yellow, Direction South + Element Air
  • Archangel Uriel - Colour Green, Direction West + Element Earth
Now, as you can see, there are two Archangels associated with West and non with North.
My question is; Which of them is associated with West, and therefore who's associated with North?
