Title: Jonathan Livingston Seagull
Post by: VERiTAS on September 03, 2004, 07:20:56 AM
This has always been a favourite book of mine its very small and can be read quickly :).

Its an analogy and is in very apt to this site - If you can read this a feel nothing - I urge you to check that you still have a heart :) Like many great books like the Little Prince or Alice in wonderland it can be read on various levels  and enjoyed by both adults and children.
A link for all you unlimited gulls - but I would also buy a copy.

Title: The tao of childrens books ;}

Wonderful! :elephant:
"Good morning," said the little prince. ....."Good morning," said the merchant.
*This was a merchant who sold pills that had been invented to quench thirst. You need only swallow one pill a week, and you would feel no need of anything to drink. *

"Why are you selling those?" asked the little prince.

"Because they save a tremendous amount of time," said the merchant. "Computations have been made by experts. With these pills, you save fifty-three minutes in every week."

"And what do I do with those fifty-three minutes?"

"Anything you like . . ."

"As for me," said the little prince to himself, "if I had fifty-three minutes to spend as I liked, I should walk at my leisure toward a spring of fresh water."  :elephant:

How profound :p  and how much does the wisdom in childrens books make you want to smile?   They are filled with joy.

Illusions also by Richard Bach (author of Jonathan Livingston Seagull) is very good.
The Little Prince is filled with all the most important lessons in life.  It is my favorite book of all time.

I thought the little prince was quite good - but JLS was far superior - have your read JLS - did you like it :) Iprefer the notion of being an unlimited gull rather than a little prince :)

Might give illusion a try, heard its supposed to be good.
